You didn't show it in the edit but did you notice that when Will found out about Ned being killed and decided to go and kill all those responsible..... When he goes to get on the horse, the horse now stays still for him to get on. Even the horse knew "William Muney" was back and it knew to behave!

One of the greatest films of all time, and not just Westerns. Pulls a switcheroo of hero and villain. Little Bill is technically in the right. He didn't mean to kill Ned, he was just trying to stop a bunch of hired murderers from invading his town. But his vanity and corruption is obvious: He's a bully and takes pleasure in the harm he does. I think it's deliberate the two main characters are named Will and Bill, different versions of the same name.

El Dorado and Big Jake are better.

This is my absolute favourite Western & Eastwood movie ever!!!!!!

This is an Anti-Western with obvious anti-violence themes. At the time of release, there was a lot of talk in the press that this film is partly a critique on gang violence that was so prevalent in the 80s and early 90s in the U.S. and the gang culture of boys and young men killing each other.

Dawn, I work at a pharmacy in Monterey, California, and Clint cones in all the time. He's still such a bad ass lol. I'm still star struck every time I talk to him. I'll make sure to mention you next time I see him 😊 He's so down to Earth and appreciative of his fans. He'll be happy to know that he's making new ones every day.

A highly underrated Clint movie is "every which way but loose". Had that same feel as a western, but most certainly is not. More of an action/ comedy

I find your reactions impressive. And so I have a suggestion for you. The film: "Battle of Sevastopol" or "Red Sniper" shows the battle of the Red Army against the Wehrmacht. It is about the most successful Russian sniper of the Second World War. Her numbers have not been surpassed to this day. What a great movie. My favorite scene is between William and The Kid after they killed the second cowboy and while they wait to receive the reward. The reality of what The Kid has just done is just beginning to sink into his mind and soul. Kid: It don't seem real... how he ain't gonna never breathe again, ever... how he's dead. And the other one too. All on account of pulling a trigger. William: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got, and all he's ever gonna have. Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming. William: We all got it coming, kid. The performance of Jaimz Woolvett, who plays The Kid, is so compelling in this scene. I really think his performance is under-rated in this film, largely because of this scene. But my favourite line of the movie is William in response to Bill's protestation that he doesn't deserve to die like this: "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it." I don't know how many people notice the subtle whince of horror that flashes across William's face after he shoots Little Bill, whom he has just shot in the face with a shotgun at close range. Another traumatic memory to add to his repertoire of nightmares.

While I realize this is an older reaction, since you are just ending your current Western week, I felt this would be an appropriate time to make this comment: I could never be mad at you for reacting to Westerns, as Westerns are my favorite movies. I own hundreds and have seen thousands. And that’s not even counting all the great Western tv shows I both own and have watched. Nor the many Westerns I have read, Western audio books and old time radio shows I have listened to. As far as I am concerned, much as I love all of your reactions, if you did nothing but Westerns I would be happy.

Try "Cactus Jack" with Kirk Douglas and Arnold Schwarzenegga, it's probably one of the funniest westerns ever😂😂😂

There's John Ford's Cavalry Trilogy. Each one a classic. Fort Apache, Rio Grande and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.

You might enjoy Open Range since you’re watching good westerns.

Western Week definitely needs to be an annual event - it's just so much fun having a new review daily from Dawn. I've been a fan of Westerns since I was a young 'un watching "Bonanza", "Gunsmoke" and "The Big Valley" on TV. Then I was able to see Westerns on the Big Screen and that just blew my mind (watching "The Outlaw Josey Wells" at the Evansville Drive-In with my Dad was especially memorable - he didn't care much about "all that vile spittin'", especially when Clint did that to the dog). My best friend had a stepfather named Tom who was into 2 things: sports and Westerns. Whenever I'd go back to Indiana, I always visited my 2nd Mom (my friend's mother, Mary) and Tom. We'd invariably talk about our favorite Westerns or watch them together on his gigantic TV. Tom got pulmonary fibrosis and his health declined leaving him pretty much house-bound the last year or 2 of his life. I definitely made it a point to visit him as much as I could outside of familial obligations and we both cheered each other up. He eventually passed on. I miss my compadre, but Western Week sure reminded me of the good times we shared.

Loved your western week! You made a good list. I'll give you one more, though, for later. "The Big Country" starring Gregory Peck and Charleton Heston. A truly magnificent film. I consider it a treatise on how to be a man. Guaranteed "best movie ever!"

3 you've *got* to see -- I'd recommend Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch (1969) -- his masterpiece -- and Shane -- you'll love it. And then The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
